11 February 2012 including: Theme of the night: Valentine Love Burlesque FreakOut is Amsterdam’s pioneering show that celebrates its 5th year! Every edition a different show that encompasses not only old-school Strip and Tease but also the newer form of Neo-Burlesque plus Vaudeville, Comedy, Magic and plain Freakiness! After the main show the night continues to be a true club night for dancing (and flirting). The most experienced DJ’s play vintage and retro 'Burlesque Beats’; from Big Band sounds to Soul, Rock & Roll to Balkan Beats plus Electro Swing and more. DO dress up for party time and be a participant....
At Club-8 are mostly standing places, few seats, but the couches are nice. Also pool tables and large bar with good selection / friendly priced drinks. |

28 January 2012 ----SOLD OUT!---- Dr. Sketchy's is an Alternative Life Drawing event - it's a Burlesque Show followed by a series of short poses so you can sketch away these beautiful femme fatales from another era. You don't have to be an artist to come to Dr. Sketchy's, just bring your drawing materials and your good cheer and join in the fun! Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School was founded in New York in 2005 by art school drop-out Molly Crabapple. She created an event celebrating the female form through a fun mix of cabaret-style performance and drawing class, at which everyone is welcome, established artists and enthusiastic amateurs alike. By now there are over a hundred Dr. Sketchy's all over the globe, and since September 2011 there is one in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. This branch is run from the already established burlesque scene, headed by Marco 'Charley' Buschman (via his company name Madame Risquée), and sponsored by the comics scene through Lambiek, the oldest comics store in the world, and its representative Margreet de Heer plus famous singer Charlotte Wessels The Models (Pin-up, Burlesque, Gothic, Fetish, DaDa-istic) are ready, the bar is open. Music, entertainment, pencils and creativity, what more do you want....(?) Limited amount of tickets available. Burlesque Workshop for YOUR (hen) party or venue: Fun filled Burlesque workshop where you can learn to tease like Dita von Teese, pose like a Bettie Page pin-up, and be as sexy as Marilyn Monroe. This (beginner) 2 hour workshop is meant purely for you and your girlfriends to have fun. Discover the Diva, Femme Fatale, Bad Girl or Comedy Queen in yourself. You'll learn how to develop your burlesque alter-ego, how to use props, and how to bump, grind, tease and strip. At the end, you and your group will be a bonafide bevy of burlesque starlettes by putting on your own little burlesque show for each other! |
